Gluten Free Crescent Rolls with a twist

I have been looking for some bread or roll recipes to make and I stumbled across this awesome recipe of Crescent Rolls!

Ok so maybe the Pilsbury Dough Boy didn't show up but in my books they were pretty darn good.

If you are planning on making these please keep in mind that the recipe asks that you the chill the dough in a ball in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours.  This will help you when you go to roll it out and it wont' be as sticky.

Chill the dough in the fridge

The recipe is a small recipe that only makes 8 Crescent rolls.  It doesn't tell you how thick to roll your dough, so I just rolled mine about 1/4 - 1/2" thick.  I found that if I rolled it too thin it would fall apart too easily.  Maybe its because I only chilled it for 2 hours?

I rolled out the dough and cut them into 8 big triangles.

(sorry I can't explain why our leftover chicken dinner is also in this picture!! lol) >>>>>

I added a bit of a twist to mine.  I rolled inside one triangle a cut up, peeled apple with a touch of brown sugar and a couple of Velata chocolate bits.

You can add Velata chocolate bits (cut up or add chocolate chips)

I then sprayed the cookie sheet with Coconut Oil spray (got at Trader Joes') and put in the oven.

The recipe calls for 20 - 30 minutes.  I guess it depends on how big your rolls are.  I started with 15 minutes and then I brushed melted butter on the top.  Then I put them back in the oven for another 15 minutes.  The tops really weren't as golden brown as I had hoped but when I checked them at the 30 minute mark I could tell the bottoms were getting crispy.

Once cooled you can drizzle melted Velata chocolate on top.

All in all they were quite tasty.  Matt loved them and we both agreed that it is best warm out of the oven.  We had one this morning and it was still quite enjoyable but if you have a toaster oven it would be nice to have it heated up.

MY RATING:  7.5 out of 10

Not the Pilsbury Dough Boy but not as much junk in them.  Plus for Gluten free, they are pretty darn good in my books.

If you have a Gluten free recipe you would like me to test out, please forward it to me.  I would love to test it in my kitchen.

Greek Style Garlic Chicken & Lemon Butter Roasted Potatos - Review

This recipe has been sampled on many occasions.  Every time I serve this dish it's an absolute hit!

This past weekend we were busy entertaining.  We had guests over on Saturday and Sunday night for dinner.

Why not?  we love entertaining and the weather was perfect to spark up the BBQ!

GREEK STYLE GARLIC CHICKEN BREASTS

It is the best flavor when you have time to marinade it overnight.

I love serving both of these dishes because they are both Gluten Free!!

GREEK STYLE OVEN ROASTED POTATOES WITH LEMON BUTTER

Some of my guests are also dairy free.  For the potatoes I made two dishes and one,  I substituted Olive Oil and eliminated the cheese.

Simply delicious!!!

Both recipes get two thumbs up!!!

MY RATING:  10 Out of 10!!!

Enjoy!!! Let me know what you think :)  Would love to hear from you!!
