The Scentsy Opportunity - why I love Scentsy - why isn't everyone doing this!!!????

Yes!! I am going to talk about Scentsy again!  I know some of you don't get it.  Why do I love this company so much?  Well I am going to tell you.

First off I am going to tell you about my Scentsy journey.......

As a lot of you know we run a Boxer Rescue.  And we had 5 Boxers of our own at the time that I was first introduced to Scentsy.  Two of them were very sensitive to anything and my girl is allergic to anything and everything in her environment.  I used to always love candles in the home until the fur babies came along.  It just wasn't safe or healthy for them so I stopped using them.  With myself I also have horrible allergies and get migraines that would knock most people off their feet for days.  When I first discovered Scentsy it changed my world.  My dogs were not bothered by the scents and I myself am tolerant to most of the scents.  Now - I am not saying that we are okay with all the scents.  Everyone is different and scent is a very personal thing.  But the Scentsy system definitely made our home smell good again and it was safe!  With Scentsy you can choose from many different scents depending upon your mood.  There is no wick, no flame and no soot.  These days candle wicks contain lead and when you burn the wick you are ingesting that into your body.  Ewwww!  But with Scentsy the wax is "warmed" not burnt and nothing but the scent goes into the air!  You can tell because the wax never disappears!  You can feel comfortable in using the Scentsy warmers instead of candles.  They are safer, healthier and there are so many beautiful styles to fit any decor.  They are safe around pets and children. 

I was introduced to Scentsy by a friend who had adopted one of our rescue boxers. She originally signed on to be a Scentsy Consultant because she fell in love with the great products.  I thought that it would be an ideal way to earn some extra cash for our rescue.  I had a few friends tell me that they liked the product but they thought I was crazy to even think about joining up as a Consultant.  They both told me the same thing.  "you won't make any real money off of it, you will have to know a ton of people to sell it, you are not a salesperson, you have to be your own best customer and spend a lot of your own money, you will get stuck in a contract and never get out"........ the list goes on and on.  Sure I was worried about what they were telling me.  I had no idea, as I never wanted to be a Consultant for any MLM company before and all those things did cross my mind.  It wasn't till I talked to my Scentsy friend and she added me to the Facebook group of her team where I was able to watch how everyone interacted and I was able to ask questions to the other team members.  After watching for a while and learning more about Scentsy it became apparent that everyone loved it!  no - not just loved it - but LOVED LOVED LOVED it!  The excitment from everyone was amazing.  So upbeat and positive and everyone was having so much fun!  Those doubts that my friends put in my head were all gone.  After doing my research and learning that all those doubts were untrue I decided to go ahead and sign up for Scentsy!  After all what did I have to lose???  I would spend the money on the kit and if I didn't like it or didn't want to continue I would have some pretty cool products of stuff that I love that I use anyhow.

 The first three months were amazing.  We made some really good money for the rescue and with my earnings I was able to help some dogs that needed medical assistance.  They say a profit is not possible within the first 5 years of starting your own business.  Well......I am here to tell you that I spent $119 plus shipping and tax on my starter kit and within the 3 months I made that back at least 8 times.

Life then came knocking on our door.  And you know you have to answer that knock whether you like it or not.  About 4 months after I signed up for Scentsy, our lives changed.  Matt’s client sold their company to a firm overseas and Matt lost his contract.....basically his job.  Matt was always the bread winner and was hugely supporting our family.   Although it was devastating, and shocking, we took it as a sign to turn things around and to make a huge change in our lives.  We quickly realized that we already had this amazing business, set in place for us.  And it was apparent that with Scentsy there is so much opportunity.  Scentsy became a second income in a time of need for our family and our Scentsy team became a huge support group for us.  

My husband has found a career that he now loves and is doing school part time and working.  We both work our Scentsy business together and have even more of a special connection to eachother.  Matt has his customers and I have mine. 

 I’ve never thought myself to be a “salesperson” and to be honest the whole selling in home parties scared the crap out of me.  But since I’ve fallen in love with Scentsy I’ve had nothing but fun!  I enjoy meeting so many wonderful people and I love having my own business! I love working hard for myself and enjoy the fruits of my labor.  Well....truth be told - it's really not that "hard" lol  Selling Scentsy has definitely been rewarding in so many ways that I could not have even imagined.  It has filled a gap in my life that was missing.  I love my job and wish that I could share it with everyone I meet.  I am more fulfilled and happier than I’ve ever been.  I want to scream at the top of my lungs to everyone about my discovery! Those friends who doubted the opportunity could not have been more wrong......well they were right about one thing.....I am NOT a salesperson.   I warm the heart, enliven the senses and inspire the soul.   I am a Scentsy Consultant. 

I have never looked back since joining.  And here is why I love Scentsy so much.....

For me, the greatest thing about being a Scentsy Family Consultant is not the extra income, the free trips, the rewards and incentives; but truly the greatest thing is the people that I have met along my Scentsy journey.  From my customers to my Scentsy Family I am blessed to have this great group of people in my life.  Some of my customers actually joined my Scentsy Family which made it even better as they have been sharing in the journey with us! I’ve been able to help many people achieve success and meet their goals, while meeting my own goals.  I am able to be associated to a company that has great family values.  They are a company that believes in supporting the charities in their local communities, giving more than you take and helping others.   Scentsy produces quality products and stands behind each and every consultant.  It’s been a very rewarding experience for me.

And let me tell you - when it pays your mortgage it's even more than AWESOME!

WHAT??? February Already??? !!!

February is here.  And we couldn't be happier.  Unfortunately we didn't make our incentive trip but we were very close this time.  And we are going to make it for sure next time!!  I am confident of it that we will get there.  Its just a matter of time.  We are still happy even tho we didn't make the trip.  Matt and I both worked very hard and feel a huge sense of accomplishment.  Plus we grew our team and our team members continue to thrive and build their Scentsy business!

I got my new car and I simply cannot tell you how much I love it.  I got the Kia Soul.  Its one of the best valued vehicles on the market.  Since I got my car I've been catching up on Scentsy deliveries.  All my Scentsy delivers arrived just in time that my new car did.  Whoohoo!!!  Scentsy being delivered in style!

So things have been busy for us.  Matt has been super busy with his Real Estate and working hard for his clients.

We also decided that we are keeping our little foster dude, and have renamed him (accordingly).  Yep we now have a little Anakin Sidewalker.  He is the cutest little man but he does have a little mischief in him.  He arrived thru another rescue that got him from a back yard breeder.  Anakin's mom and dad were brother and sister.  This little man had several medical conditions since birth.  He was from a litter of 8 puppies and all the puppies were sold to make money for the owners.  I feel awful because I wonder how many of his sibblings also have the same issues.  We ended up with Ani because nobody wanted to euthanize him nor did they want to pay the money to find out how to fix him. Basically the back yard breeders did not want to take responsibility for their actions.   Rescue a Boxer stepped up and brought this boy into our care.  We paid for his heart scans and medical workups.  After appointments with specialists it was determined that this young pup has a grade 5 heart murmur and  pulmonic stenosis.  But the worst part of it is that he also has a severe case subaortic stenosis.  Basically the wall of his heart is almost 5 times thicker than it should be.  Blood doesn't travel thru his heart very well and the vets say that his life spam is bleak.  He also has fissures in his anus and does not have control of his bum.   Don't feel bad for him!!  He is a REAL puppy and you wouldn't know that he is sick.  He has the energy of a pup and more to spare!  He is living a comfortable and healthy life thanks to Rescue A Boxer and the care that was provided by the vets and specialists.

Because of his heart issues he isn't a good candidate for adoption.  Let's face it........this little guy wasn't going anywhere anyhow.  He walked right into our house and captured our hearts.  He is definitely part of the Star Wars pack.

I cannot stress the importance of rescuing a dog.  There are so many homeless dogs that need and deserve a great home.  It is estimated that 3 to 4 million dogs are euthanized in the US each year.  That is a huge amount.  A number that keeps me awake a night.  If you feel that you must have a puppy please contact a reputable breeder.  A reputable breeder breeds the dogs to better the health of the breed.  They know what they are doing and aren't just playing God.  They do health and temperment testings on their dogs.  They aren't  always breeding their dogs and aren't having litters after litters.  The reputable breeder will show you where the mom lives and you will see how well the mom is taken care of.  We hear of many sad stories and its heartbreaking.  Recently I was told about how a backyard breeder bred his female and was selling the puppies on Craigslist.  The mom normally lives outside except they allowed her inside just to birth her pups.  Once the pups were birthed the mom was banished outside again.  They only brought her inside to nurse the pups.  All the puppies were sold without any health testing done on the mom or the dad or the puppies.  They were sold before they were old enough to leave their mom.  pups should stay with their mom till at least 8 weeks.  These pups were sold at 5 weeks old.  The owner is also selling the mom on Craigslist and is advertising her as a good breeding dog, that will provide the buyer with a good income of puppies.  It breaks my heart that people are so cruel and so heartless.  Please people rescue!  Adopt a dog, there is one out there that needs you! 

Next week I am going to Scentsy Spring Sprint with my team.  I'm looking forward to it because a friend is coming along as well.  She has been on the fence about joining Scentsy.  I was on the fence before too (not for long mind you) but it wasn't long before I took the plunge.  And I'm so glad that I did.  I cannot tell you how much of a positive impact it has had on our lives.  Scentsy has 3 brands.  There is one there for everyone!  I represent all 3 brands of Scentsy (Scentsy Fragrance; Velata and Grace Adele).  Truth be told Scentsy Fragrance is still my favorite! 

I am excited to learn all about the new things that Scentsy is going to be doing this year.  PLUS I get a free gift box with new products!!!

February Spring Sprint means that there is only 5 more months till the BIG Convention!!!  Just in case I didn't tell you.....it's in St. Louis this year!  And with it being Scentsy's 10 year anniversary its guaranteed to be HUGE!!!

Of course February is a new month so there is a new Warmer of the Month and a new Scent of the month.  "Sparkling Citrus Pear" is one of my new favorites!!!  Its been very popular.  I received it the last week in January and my package of scents is almost all gone!!!  I love this scent.  Try it!!  You may just love it too!!!

 SCENTSY IS ON SALE!!!  yes! that's right!  almost everything in the current catalog is on sale.  Why?  because we are clearing space for the new Spring/Summer items.  There are many items and scents that are being discontinued.  Sad but true.  Unfortunately we cannot stock all the scents there is just too many!!!  So check out the sale!!!
